How to find out if my tenant received a red tag

Most courts in Ohio use an online docketing system where the general public can search public records related to court cases. For example, Franklin County Municipal Court maintains an online docketing system where you can find information related to your case. To search their online docketing system you can follow the link to it provided here. You can search by your name, your company’s name or the tenant’s name.

Eviction cases can be identified by the “CVG” in the case number. For example, 2020 CVG 012339 is an eviction case that was filed in the year 2020. 012339 corresponds to the 12,339th eviction case filed in that year. If you click on that case number it will take you to your case history.

If you see “WRIT OF RESTITUTION ISSUED” in your case history, it generally means that the red tag was served on the tenant on the date indicated.
